Publisher’s Letter Issue VIII

Welcome to Issue VIII!
In this issue we feature South Third Street residents, Lynn and Jerry Esselsteins' moving story about their daughter, her dog Apache and visiting Etta.
Photographer and artist, Larry Hamill, who maintains a studio on East Deshler Avenue, showcases some of his creative artistic works featuring German Village residents, residences, gardens, Schiller Park and sculptures.
We very much enjoyed the wonderful and successful 2021 Garten Tour hosted by the German Village Society and German Village Garten Club. The cocktail party was festive and delicious. The numerous colorful and well designed gardens featured on the tour did not disappoint.
A look inside and outside of 684 City Park Avenue. A residence recently sold by local realtor Regina Acosta Tobin. Featuring a modernized 19th century Italianate and modern addition.
Off to Maui for East Beck Street's German Village Magazine publisher for a much needed break from the Covid 19 lengthy winter. Thankful for a week of perfect weather, great hotel balcony ocean views, salt water snorkeling, turtles bobbing in and out of the sea and my first luau. Lots of tasty seafood and of course, a Mai Tai or two!
