A MID-ATLANTIC JOURNEY: MD, DE and NJ
y friend, Beth, invited me to visit her in early August. She lives in Lewes, Delaware which is located next to Rehoboth Beach. I flew into Baltimore and she and another friend, Trina, picked me up.
INNER HARBOR BALTIMORE
First stop was the Baltimore Inner Harbor area. We wandered around, checked out the National Aquarium and had a tasty seafood lunch at Phillips restaurant along the water on the outside patio. Beth ordered the (unique to me) Crab Mac N Cheese hotdog.

ANNAPOLIS
Next we were off to Annapolis, Maryland to enjoy its harbor. Beautiful, historic, and home of the Naval Academy. It was a pleasure, I will be back!
REHOBOTH BEACH
The boardwalk and an entrance to Rehoboth Beach.
After shopping on Rehoboth Avenue, we went up to a second story restaurant, Above the Dunes, for a bite to eat. It is a great place to view Rehoboth Beach and the boardwalk.
LEWES - the first city in the first state
We enjoyed a beach day at Lewes Beach which forms a sandy arch along the Delaware Bay.
Every first Friday of a month the Lewes Historical Society hosts live colonial music and offers drinks from that era. We had fun listening to The Blarney Pilgrims who specialize in Celtic music. They provided sheets of words to the music for those that wanted to sing-a-long. Some of the musicians were playing instruments from the colonial period.
Afterward we wandered around the charming historic town and had dinner at Bramble & Brine at the Buttery. A wonderful restaurant in a Victorian House. Full of character and offering delicious cuisine. We had a table on the side porch. It was perfect!
We enjoyed a pool day. Beth owns a condo in a community that has three pools, two outside and one inside. One of the outside pools has a swim-up bar. There is also a club, gym and community garden.
We visited Twin Branch Winery in near by Milton, had a wine tasting and enjoyed live music and a picnic lunch on the patio.

CAPE MAY, NJ
Off to Cape May via the ferry out of Lewes Bay.
The ferry offered fresh fruit drinks. I am enjoying a tasty grapefruit concoction.
Cape May is considered the oldest seashore resort in the United States.
