often as I have been to the Hausfrau Haven meandering through the wonderful selection of wines from around the world, I never knew they were the only retailer in the metropolitan area to cellar old and rare vintages!
Also, I did not know it was the Largest Boutique Wine & Beer Shop in the city. |
Hausfrau Haven Motto:
"If we don't have it –
we can get it!"
"If we don't have it –
we can get it!"
Faye Muncie and Julie Delia bought Hausfrau Haven and the building wherein it is located in 1997. The purchase agreement included a life estate to the German Village legendary couple Fred and Howard who originally opened the store in the 70's. See the mural below.
Upon acquiring the business, Faye set out to become a wine expert through vast hours of studying, tasting after tasting and visiting winemakers and vineyards all over the world!
She succeeded in becoming a wine aficionado and I am confident you can count on her suggestions ranging from wines for home sipping to special gatherings. Head over to peruse and purchase favorites from the well curated wines on display! Make an appointment to discuss your rare and older wine desires. |

Spring highlighted wines from Faye:
"One of my favorite regions is Campania, in southern Italy. Since it is spring, my focus turns to white wine. Terradora di Paolo jumps to the head of the class. They offer four white wines vinified in stainless steel tanks. The soil in this region is volcanic and therefore produces complex and interesting wines. The most popular being Falanghina. The other three varieties are Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino and Coda di Volpe. These may be wine varietals you have never heard of, but are well worth checking out. Campania is so close to Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast, the island of Capri and Naples. Naples is the birth place of pizza and Mozzarella di bufala! Limoncello originated in the Amalfi coast region. This area offers so much for tourists. This should be on your bucket list." |
