Hi there - What do you all do in terms of career, hobbies and interests?
As a family, we love soccer, fútbol, calcio, Futsal...all things involving a foot kicking a ball! Besides soccer, we enjoy German Village for the scenery, the ability to leave our car and ride our bikes everywhere. The boys take classes including capoeira at the Schiller Recreation Center.
We also love to travel and prefer to gift our kids with experiences from those travels.
Quelvid (I call him Q/he goes by David), a year ago in November, closed our used car lot we owned for 12 years and shifted to becoming a Realtor with Caldwell Banker. He is also flipping houses. On the side, he continues to sell some cars and is getting into the stock market. He is a jack of all trades!
I am a Freelance Graphic Designer and owner of Tarimella Designs. Now that I am free from managing the car lot and our babies are all in school, I make time for logos, branding and websites. I am also learning Social Media Marketing.
What is your address?
705 Macon Alley, where one can find a mini soccer field, mini goals, balls flying and kids always playing.

Why did you choose German Village for your home?
When I moved back to Ohio in 2007, after Chicago and Nebraska, my sisters were both in the Village and I fell in love with the city feel. I met my husband shortly after and my husband loved GV! When we had our first baby, we tried to leave the neighborhood, but came back within a year and rented on Lazelle until we found our current home. After four years of a complete overhaul down to the studs, 705 became our forever home with a secret hideout and tunnels to get in-between rooms.
Do you have favorite family activities in the Village?
I think one thing the boys will never forget about GV is the Haus & Garten Tour!
They started a tradition and set-up a lemonade stand just outside the house. It has not disappointed!
They practice customer service, food service, math, selling/running a business while saving up for college and creating some extra spending money when we travel.

Do you have any pets living with you?
Last winter, we adopted a stray cat my sister had found and was feeding. When my sister went on vacation, we brought the cat home and named her Corona after the virus. She became our princess.
An older Tortoiseshell cat which loves to sleep and in the warmer months, prefers outside to inside.
Our vet said she is 13-15 years old.

Do you plan to stay in German Village as your family grows up?
Yes! We love it here...pre-COVID, we enjoyed Sundays at FirstWatch, sitting for coffee at our local stops, fresh produce from the Farmer’s Market at Saint Mary’s, treats from Pistascia Vera (requested from family far and wide) and weekend soccer games at the St.Mary’s parking lot...and of course our chats with our neighbors.
Now with COVID, we make the best of the warm days with bike rides and ice cream at Jeni’s and on days like these, sledding in Schiller Park! The only thing that will move us is if one of the boys gets invited to play abroad...then we may temporarily leave :)

Please tell us about the advantages of being a family in an urban neighborhood?
Besides all the fun things we love, listed above? I would say the people! We have met so many fun and nice people. I love that my kids know more people than I do since they are always outside; and people always stop and talk to our boys and make them feel so loved!

Is there a stay-at-home mom or dad in the family? If not, do you get help from caregiver?
With COVID, we all came home so it was an adjustment!! We had a nanny for years when our older boys were little but now value the Montessori school where they all attend in-person, daily.
If your children are in school, please tell us where.
Columbus Montessori Education Center (on James Road).
Do you have other help?
With four boys at home, our house stays busy and we do ask for assistance from them in helping with cleaning!
