NYC Labor Day Week
My bestie, Rachel, from the San Francisco Bay Area, suggested we do a week in NYC with her daughter who is my goddaughter, Riley. We decided on Labor Day week.
A CENTRAL PARK Stroll and Lunch at the BOATHOUSE
We began our Labor Day celebration meandering through the park and lunching at the fabulous Central Park Boathouse.

We secured a table with a wonderful view.
The food, service, company, and setting - a perfect lunch.
NUBELUZ at the Ritz Carlton NoMad & Oscar Wilde
Later, we met up with Riley, who trained in from Washington DC after visiting a friend. We grabbed a taxi and headed over to Nubeluz at the Ritz Carlton NoMad for a cocktail. My son, Roth who lives in New York, and his girlfriend, Josie met us there. Riley's boyfriend, JP, also joined us coming in from Long Island after a getaway in Montauk.
An elegant spot for a cocktail and sweeping views of NYC.
Thank you, Vicki, for the recommendation!

Next stop, Oscar Wilde NYC, for dinner.
FRENCHETTE in Tribeca
GV resident, Courtney Druen, suggested we try out Frenchette in Tribeca. It is a classic French bistro with marvelous food. As winner of a James Beard award and Michelin recognized, we were excited to check it out.
Thank you, Courtney!

THE MODERN at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and Sculpture Garden
Off to more deliciousness, we strolled to The Modern restaurant connected to MoMA for lunch overlooking the sculpture garden. We enjoyed the
- seeded crackers, whipped chevre and sumac - gem lettuce salad with fried capers and tonnato - hand-cut mafaldine with lobster and pink peppercorns. The seed wafers were so tasty, I ordered a second one!

Tiffany's and the Blue Box Cafe
(Breakfast at Tiffany's)
We did not have a reservation for the Blue Box Cafe at Tiffany's, because it is very difficult to get one, but decided to crash it and see if we could get in. We succeeded in getting a bar seat.
If you get a reservation and have something to celebrate, you can request a blue box cake. You need to put the order in several days ahead of your reservation.

THE ARMORY SHOW
A very well executed major art event.
MONKEY BAR at the Elysee Hotel
Tasty French Dip.
Before I went to NYC, I spent a long weekend in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Lots of fun. One of my goals was to have the annual lobster roll at Rowayton Seafood. While I was merrily dining on my lobster, I heard the table next to me talking about German Village in Columbus, Ohio. We are it!
