When your Pied-à-Terre is a Chateau in Loire!
When your Pied-à-Terre is a Chateau in Loire!
was enthralled when visiting NYC designer Bjorn Bjornsson's chateau in the Loire River Valley in France. The majestic stairwell from the 14th century fortress took my breath away!
PORTO PETRO
His property started out as a fortress during the 100 Years War with Britain overlooking a tributary of the Loire river. Many chateau's in France started as structures to see if the enemy was invading via a waterway.
Bjorn renovated every room. It is 30,000 square feet with 22 bedroom
We rented electric bikes from the resort and enjoyed riding into neighboring villages and beaches.
MONDRAGO NATURAL PARK
We visited Mondrago Natural Park to take in the beauty of the surrounding area and of course, the sea.
BEACHES
Port du Soller
Beaches are plentiful on every side of the island of Mallorca.
PORTO CRISTO - the Drach Caves
The Drach Caves in Porto Cristo were amazing. We floated underground in small gondola boats, and at the end of the tour a symphony played. I loved it!
ALCUDIA
During the second half of our trip we stayed in a condo in Alcudia. Above is the harbor.
Every small village we visited had exquisite shopping options. I recommend walking through the village streets as much as possible. My favorite
purchase was an artist designed top and a Kelly Green/pink leather purse.

LA SEU CATHEDRAL - Palma
We toured La Seu in Palma, and Santuario de San Salvador Monastery. We also were going to Castell de Bellver, but Louis Vuitton had a jewelry show!
NU MALLORCA BEACH CLUB
Nu Mallorca Beach Club offered a great dinner, drinks & fun.
CUISINE
Here are some pictures of tasty paella, tapas, dinner and desserts!
My favorites the Vegetarian Paella, the Hugo Spritz & the Alberino White Wine. Yum!
VALLDEMOSSA
Toured the Monastery Frederic Chopin & George Sand spent in the winter of 1838 – 1839 (Valldemossa)
We toured the Monastery Frederic Chopin & George Sand in Valldemossa. They spent the winter of 1838 – 1839 at this location and it is where Chopin finished his preludes.
Biking and walking through old villages, exploring beaches, dining on local cuisine, traveling with old and new friends, and experiencing a different area of Spain added up to a very wonderful trip!
