Meet Jenn Clark, Chair of the 2026
German Village Haus und Garten Tour
As Chair of the Haus und Garten tour, what are you excited about?
I have been a resident of German Village for almost 10 years now, and I volunteer for and support the German Village Society and Village Connections as both a resident and REALTOR®. Being active in my community has always been very important to me, and I look for ways to do more. When I was asked to take the helm for this year's Tour, I said "Yes"! There is a ton of work that is put into an event of this size, and I am grateful for the team of extremely dedicated people who make all of it possible. It truly does take a village! And it is one more way I can give back to the community I love.

How did you and Geoff meet?
The version we tell people is our "East Coast meets Midwest" running connection...

Why did you move to German Village?
When Geoff opened up Veloscience Bikeworks in New Albany. We lived there at that time, but we were always coming down to German Village for happy hour and dinner. We were down here so much we got to know a number of residents. In love with the GV area and having made some friends, it was easy for us to decide to move here and make it our home.

Do you have any pets? Tell us about them?
We turned into rescue pet parents. Starting with Stella, our black and white border collie, then we adopted Bruna, our mini cinnamon labradoodle, and our newest rescue is Nico, a white husky. We never meant to get two, never mind three, but here we are! And Lucia, our cat, manages to reign her queendom in spite of the chaos.

What kind of band did you use to play in? Would you ever play the bass in a band again?
In my early 20's, a few friends and I started a band that was a cross between post-punk and surf rock with a sprinkle of shoegaze. I played bass, and we had an amazing guitarist, so we took a lot of twists and turns through this cross-section of genres. The name of our band was not parent-approved, but we did make the stage at the legendary Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ which was an awesome venue to see some stellar shows back in the day!
Who knows? I've been approached about playing bass in a band a number of times after telling this story!

Favorite song? Band?
This is a tough question to answer! My father co-owned an iconic Rock n' Roll club in NJ back in the 70s- 90s, so music is in my blood. We listen to KEXP, a Seattle-based radio station, from the minute we get up until bedtime, 24-7. My tastes are pretty eclectic and vary with my mood- New Order, Boards of Canada, Gorillaz, Sault, Tame Impala, Little Sims, and Steely Dan to name a few!

What are some favorite places to eat and why?
We have been loving our lush patio setting, so home-cooked meals have been most common, but when we do eat out, alfresco dining is a necessity! Locally, Lindey's and Barcelona, with some later nights at Club 185. We also enjoy Lupo in UA and SoCal in the Short North!

What is your favorite cocktail?
A Negroni Bianco, the lighter version of the classic, as we segue to warmer temps. But I do love a Vodka Martini as well!

Do you go to the Scioto Audubon Park?
I run on that trail almost every day, whether it is a short run, or en route to a longer one.

What is your favorite season in GV?
All of them? I am in love with German Village, as I would think anyone who lives here is. Every season is a favorite!
