Meet Margaret Wunderlich, the owner of Chaos Contemporary Craft (CCC), located at 78 N High Street. Her store is in the renovated historic White-Haines building, one of the galleries that recently opened up in the Gay & High Street Arts District in downtown Columbus.
The next artist reception at CCC will be on Sunday, June 8 from 2-4 pm with Columbus born NYC artist, Bob Strati.
From Margaret:
My mother was a ceramic artist and I was involved with the art world from a very young age. We went to numerous art openings, museum events, national art fairs, etc throughout my childhood. In high school, I decided to go "all in" on the arts as a career. I took every art class available and then went to college in Utah with a photography scholarship.

Afterward, I came back to Columbus and worked at Sherrie Gallerie in the Short North. I had a love of jewelry and gemstones my whole life, but my deep passion for artistic jewelry truly blossomed at her store. I fell in love with the business of art and knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!
I don't make art myself anymore, I would say curating and collaborating with artists is my craft!
A lot of people in my life helped to shape my taste and direction as a curator and gallery owner. The ceramics scene in general in the early 2000s, high school photography and studio art professors, my college contemporary art professor, and Sherrie Riley Hawk of Sherrie Gallerie.
I also spent over a decade religiously attending every OSU, CCAD, and nonprofit gallery show I could, looking at young artists and keeping up with them as they progressed creatively. Along with the local shows, I would go to New York, DC, Chicago, Toronto, etc frequently to see gallery and museum shows. I went to the Venice Biennale and that was incredible. I have mentally consumed a lot of art, and continue to do so. I think that is key, understanding the larger context and conversations of contemporary art.
