"Bonnets in bloom, laughter in the breeze,
Schiller Park shining beneath spring trees.
Eggs were found, memories made,
And the Easter Bunny even joined the parade."

Come to the next German Village Easter Parade, April 5, 2026, at Schiller Park! Wear your bonnet, top hat, Easter finest and join us for a stroll!
History. On Easter 2023, German Village resident, Ken Bowen, a native New Yorker, put on his Easter attire - suit, top hat and walking stick and went for a stroll in Schiller Park. His tour of the charming neighborhood green space was inspired by the annual Easter Bonnet Parade on Fifth Avenue in NYC.
The New York City event has been a "thing" since the 1800s, when people after church would walk down 5th Avenue adorned in their Easter best. These days people often get creative regarding their headpiece and clothing.
Hope to see you next year for the German Village Easter Parade!
