Our trip included spending a lot of days trekking through small villages; seeing the way people live.
A highlight was talking with the adorable Vietnamese & Cambodian children along the way. The little kids love to practice their English - we asked them questions like "how old are you?" and "what's your favorite color?"

We ate some "unconventional" foods too...an 18 day duck egg (hot vit lon), which is a partially developed embryo, sauteed silk worms, and red ants.
So many amazing types of coffee (salt coffee, coconut coffee, egg coffee).
Our most amazing meal was in Saigon at Anon Saigon. A 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings, for $68/a couple. Incredibly delicious.

Ninety-two carved metopes, square blocks placed between the columns, adorned the exterior walls of the Parthenon, depicting the Trojan War and other mythological battles. Along the entire length of the Parthenon’s inner chamber was a frieze likely depicting a procession to the Acropolis. Two

We also tried squidding off the boat in Ha Long Bay. We didn't catch anything, but it was fun to try!

We also loved meeting two giant African pouched rats, who are trained to sniff out unexploded land mines.
Our tour took us to Cambodian Temples.
And we enjoyed steak & red ants for lunch.
